  • Poz Cafe, TIHAN

Poz Cafe, TIHAN’s monthly lunch for people living with HIV, is an opportunity to get out of their house, take a break, meet other positive people, and enjoy great food! On the third Thursday of each month from 11:30am to 1:30pm, volunteers from local faith communities provide a fantastic, delicious and nutritious lunch. This is followed by time to “hang out,” chat, participate in a game or two of bingo, enjoy our raffle of fun and useful gifts, and receive a Care Package. With two other faith communities, UMC of Green Valley provides money for food and gift cards for prizes for bingo. We provide cash gifts for the raffles. We get a designation from TIHAN for what we need to provide for the Care Packages, items not available with food stamps as toilet paper, shampoo, laundry detergent, feminine products, soap, toothpaste. Also once a year five or six members of the congregation greet the guests, set the tables, serve the meal and clean-up at the end of the meal.
